Alexander patented the first modern full double horn in 1909 and since then Alexanders have been used by some of the world's finest players. In recent years the application of modern acoustic designs principles and manufacturing techniques have solidified Alexander's position at the top of the horn world. Alexander builds single, double, and triple horns as well as Wagner tubas and natural horns (and tubas, by special order) in their small workshop in Mainz.

The most popular models with our American customers:
- Model 103 Alexander's standard model double, Eighty per cent of German hornists play this model. The design is basically unchanged since 1909. Recent improvements have improved intonation and consistency.
- Model 403S A new design, the 403S "Balanced" model places the change valve at the center of the instrument, resulting in a very comfortable horn to play. A longer leadpipe gives this small throated horn a very even feel. Interior dimensions are the same as the model 103.
- Model 200 Anniversary model. Originally designed to celebrate Alexander's 200th year, the model 200 is a Geyer-Knopf design.
- Model 503 An entry level Alexander, this moderately priced instrument is finding favor all over the world for it's fine playing qualities.
