Getzen Intermediate Model Trumpets

Intermediate trumpets fill an important gap between student and professional instruments.  With the cost of professional grade instruments approaching the $3000 mark, intermediate trumpets represent a sensible choice for people looking for both quality and value.

Getzen makes some of the finest intermediate trumpets available. While some makers produce a so-called intermediate trumpet by modestly upgrading a student instrument Getzens are built from the ground up to be the best instrument for the price. Made in America by craftsmen with many years of experience, their playing qualities are second to none. Getzen valves are known for quick, reliable action and long life. In fact, Getzen guarantees them for the life of the instrument. The action slides are tight and in line.

Getzen Custom and Artist Model Trumpets

The Custom Series trumpets are the culmination of more than six decades of trumpet building. Each is handmade in the Getzen ProShop to the industry's highest standards. Because they are made in such small quantities, there is usually a small wait time, but these horns are definitely worth the extra time. Custom Artist Model 3001

The Artist's Model Custom Trumpet is the perfect demonstration of Getzen's strong ties with professional musicians. The Artist's Model Trumpets are the product of the Getzen ProShop working together with top trumpet players around the world. This teamwork has created a truly superior product that is the combination of many years of experience in the playing, designing, and building of professional trumpets.

• BORE: .459"

• VALVES: The valve casings are brass and the balusters (top part of the casing) are newly designed nickel-silver.  The pistons are nickel plated.  The instrument comes with gold plated top and bottom valve caps and gold plated, mother-of-pearl finger buttons.

• BELL: One-piece sheet stock, hand-hammered, yellow brass bell with 4-13/16" diameter

• INTONATION AIDS: 1st valve slide saddle, 3rd valve slide fixed throw ring

• FINISH: Bright silver plated with gold plated trim

• CASE: Supplied with vintage style, black, hard-shell wood case with exterior music pouch

• Lever water keys

• Additional: The annealing, baking of the bells, bell bow shape and dimensions, slide shapes and lead pipe lengths/dimensions are all done to researched specifications.  Each main bell-to-body brace is "sweet-spotted" in the Pro Shop, a process where the main brace is positioned, play-tested and repositioned from optimum performance before the brace is soldered.  This customizes each unit to it's own hand-hammered bell.  Consequently, stores and customers may notice different placement of the braces when viewing the trumpets side-by-side.

Model 3001LE

This is the same as the 3001 model but gold plated and has an elaborately decorative hand-engraved bell.

Custom Series Model 3916 Bb/A Piccolo Trumpet

After years of success in the Eterna Series line, the 916 Piccolo Trumpet has been upgraded and moved into the Getzen Custom Series. This new and improved 3916 Piccolo Trumpet maintains the same great quality of the 916 model with several upgraded and enhanced features. In addition to an all new, 4" copper bell, the 3916 also offers a redesigned mouthpipe and tuning bit configuration. This design change includes a switch to standard trumpet shank tuning bits as well as a completely new mouthpipe tube. Perhaps the biggest improvement is the totally redesigned 3916 valve section. While the same dedication to piston action and durability that Getzen is known for has stayed the same, the overall layout and configuration has changed to ensure a freer blowing instrument that offers excellent intonation. Add this to the fact that the 3916 Piccolo Trumpet is constructed exclusively in the Getzen Pro Shop and you will see why it has quickly become regarded as the perfect tool for any Baroque literature or specialty music.
