Hand Horn according to Ignaz Lorenz, Linz

Ideal for historically informed performances of music from Haydn through
Robert Schumann, and especially the Mozart concertos, which were written for
the Linz hornist Ignaz Leitgeb, this horn was designed to produce the
characteristic hand horn sound while correcting the acoustical shortcomings
of the original. Technically a cor d'orchestre, it uses terminal crooks and
can be played in all keys and tuned from A=443 to A=415. The bell diameter
is 11" (28cm). The cylindrical bore is .441" (11.2mm). The garland on the
bell is standard, as is the smoked patina.
We offer this instrument as a complete kit, including: corpus,
hand-hammered bell, all crooks from C alto, through C basso, 1 step coupler,
two tuning slides to cover the entire range, and a hard case.
