Bob Osmun at the latheScrew Rim Conversion

  • Standard cup thread sizes are .750-36 (Giardinelli) and .765-36 (Bach). We can duplicate any maker's threads (Including Reeves Quick-32). If you have a favorite rim we can cut it off the the mouthpiece and thread it to fit on your threaded cup or we can thread  cups for the rim.

Thread cup to accept Warburton Back bores - $40.00

  • If you have a mouthpiece cup that you love, but need to change the sound or feel of your playing, we can  thread any cup to accept Warburton, Kanstul, or Giardinelli back bores. This will eliminate the search for various mouthpieces for various horns or styles.

Cast and Measure Custom Mouthpiece -$250 (Base Price)

  • With the help of CNC technology, we can cast and measure your mouthpiece for various purposes. Many people have older custom mouthpieces that are one of a kind. What happens when that mouthpiece is destroyed or stolen? If we have a cast on file, we can fabricate a replica of that mouthpiece at any time. Also it easy to reproduce copies of your mouthpiece for students and very easy to slightly change the dimensions of your mouthpiece to suit your needs.

Altering Mouthpiece Exteriors

Before, during, and after

With our new CNC technology, we are able to reshape and cut down the outside shape of large bodied mouthpieces to more traditional specs. We offer this service for the trumpet player who plays equipment not accepted by their employer or auditioner. After this process, you may also wish to re-plate, making the brand of your mouthpiece undetectable.

  • Alter Mouthpiece exterior in silver plate- $75.00
  • Alter Mouthpiece exterior in gold plate-$85.00

Plating

  • We use the best silver and gold plating obtainable and we guarantee our plated finishes for one year. We do all the cleaning and buffing in-house. When re-plating mouthpieces it is vitally important to maintain the contour of the rim and the edge of the cup so very deep scratches may not be completely removed. (You will not be able to feel them, however.) We may have to make an extra charge for mouthpieces that are very badly worn or damaged or for nickel plated mouthpieces that require stripping.  Our plating is done routinely in one batch every two weeks. You may call ahead or email us to schedule a drop off, reducing the time you'll be without your mouthpiece.
  • The following pictures are before and after shots of our mouthpiece plating. One of the mouthpieces is an old Giardinelli flugel horn mpc (5FL) that was refinished and silver plated. The other is a new Schilke trumpet mpc (6A4A) that was gold plated.
